I know of absolutely no good place to eat Peruvian rotisserie chicken than Pollos Sherman.

Heck, forget Peruvian. Their chicken is one of the best I've tasted.

Not sure if the chickens are well fed, happier, or whatever, but one thing I'm certain of; it is well marinated. This place is GOOD.

I've frequented this joint for years when they used to be Super Pollo on Van Nuys Blvd & Gilmore. I love watching the wood fired oven rotating & caressing the birds... Someday, one day I'll make it to Peru and hike Machu Picchu.

Thankfully, not everyone else in the Valley (or fluffy LA-er) have discovered this spot... so I thought. Place is busy especially during the lunch hour.  I even try to call ahead to order but they're so busy many times the phone just keeps ringing.   Parking is also a problem here so don't come decked out from head to toe Prada in your Benz. Remember, this is the "armpit of the Valley" were some of you are allergic to the air quality.

Now- how about 'em chicken?!   Chicken is not the only thing that these hard working fellas make so perfectly delicious.  Rice, fries, plantains are all quite noteworthy.

Be warned... Once you taste this chicken you either like it or love it... I was once warned by a Costa Rican lady & look where we are now...

"It's easy to impress me. I don't need a fancy party to be happy. Just good friends, good food, and good laughs. I'm happy. I'm satisfied. I'm content. --Maria Sharapova

So I've been coming here for years. The food is good service is so so. After today I won't be going back. I wanted to purchase Aji Amarillo sauce( yellow sauce) so I could dip my French fries in it and they wouldn't sell it to me they said the owner said no. I find that very odd. Hopefully they see this and realize how dumb it sounded. Me and my whole extended family will not be coming here anymore.

After an unusually long dental appointment nearby, Pollos Sherman came up on my Yelp. Without reading reviews and an insatiable growing hunger, I decided that this was to be a gamble lunch. I'm pleased to report that the gamble paid off and overall, everything was tasty, from the seasoned and grilled Beef and Chicken, through to the Plantains and healthy looking Fries. My only gripe would be that since the accompanying meat (in the Chicken Salad) was thinly cut, I would love to have more of that. The restaurant is clean and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely recommend eating here and thus far would say this was the tastiest Peruvian food I've had in the area.
